Training contracts

From 1 October 2011 we are recruiting for training contracts starting in August 2014 and February 2015.

We usually interview law students in August, and successful candidates then join us as trainee solicitors two or three years later. New trainees will join us in either August or February.

Applications from law students should be submitted by 31 July 2012. Penultimate year law students should wait until they have their second year examination results before submitting their application.

We consider law candidates as those who are studying for, or have completed, a law degree in England or Wales.

Read more about our training timeline for law students.

Applications from non-law students should be submitted by 30 March 2012 and we normally interview applicants from January onwards. We screen non-law training contract applications on a rolling basis – we do not wait until after the deadline to review applications.

We consider non-law candidates as those who have completed, or are required to complete, part of or the full GDL prior to the LPC.

Vacation schemes

Our summer vacation schemes are for penultimate year law students. Applications for our 2012 summer vacation schemes have now closed. Information about our summer 2013 schemes will be on the website from September 2012.

First year opportunities

Our Easter vacation scheme and first year open days are for the first year students only. Applications open on 1 October 2011 and places on these events will be offered after the application closing date on 15 February 2012. No assessment days will take place.

Campus ambassador positions

Applications for our 2012/13 campus ambassador positions open on 30 January 2012. The positions are for first year law students only. Applications close on 15 February 2012 and all applications will be reviewed after the deadline.

Online critical thinking test

From October 2011, all candidates who are successful at the application stage for all our opportunities are now required to complete an online critical thinking test. Candidates who are then invited to attend an assessment day will complete a different version of the test on the day.
