I’m David Harris. I’m Co-CEO of Hogan Lovells. The role is very similar to that of a Chief Executive in a large international business, so I’m responsible for the strategy, for the direction of the business, and for basically ensuring that we deliver the highest possible service to our clients across the globe.
One of the interesting aspects is working closely with my Co-CEO, Warren Gorrell the former Chairman of Hogan & Hartson. We very much carry out our responsibilities on a joint basis, sharing responsibility. We literally have daily phone calls, and discuss the various issues that we are dealing with at the moment; both centered around integration of our merger, but also in terms of how we develop and take the business further forward.
What we’ve seen over the years is the development of international markets with increasing globalisation, and one of the challenges that all law firms face is how to meet our clients’ needs, how to service clients on a global basis, and provide them with extensive coverage of pretty uniform quality around the world.
With our merger, we are uniquely placed to provide true global coverage on a full service basis around the world, and there is no other firm at the moment who can actually provide that breadth of coverage, and that quality of advice to our clients globally.
“We are uniquely placed to provide truly global coverage on a full service basis around the world.”
David Harris is Co-CEO of Hogan Lovells. David began his career in corporate law before the changing markets around the world inspired a switch to finance. Today, David regards Hogan Lovells as a firm with a truly global presence.
