Client secondments

A client secondment provides trainees with commercial experience and an opportunity to take on more responsibility directly working with the client.

Around half our trainees go on a client secondment at some point during their training contract. You will typically spend six months in the client’s in-house legal department and the work can be extremely varied. You will have the full support of the firm’s resources to call on whilst you are on secondment.

Clients to whom we currently second trainees include: Barclays, BAT, Citibank, ExxonMobil, Ford, Ford Credit Europe, John Lewis, Lloyds Banking Group, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Prudential, SABMiller, Save the Children UK and Standard Chartered Bank.
