World-class training
World-class training, development and support – key reasons why Hogan Lovells produces some of the UK’s finest lawyers.
We describe our continuous training and development programme as ‘world-class’ because we believe it is a truly exceptional intellectual, professional and commercial resource. From trainees to partners, it enables the brightest minds to continually add new forms of technical and business expertise to their existing knowledge and skills. And that enhances the quality of advice we provide to clients, our reputation as a legal practice and your ability to make the very best of your skills.
We have three training schemes:
- Legal Practice Course – A mandatory, enhanced and accelerated LPC course tailored to the requirements of City firms.
- Pre-qualification: Training Contract – A two-year training contract split into four six-month periods, or ‘seats’.
- Post-qualification – Ongoing training and development focused on advanced legal skills, business and management skills, and specialist practice expertise.
Some aspects of your training and development will involve being immersed in books, documents and online material. Here you’ll benefit from the Penson Library, which provides access to legal and business research experts, online information resources and quiet areas for study – all within our Atlantic House headquarters.
At other times, training and development will have a human face. Through our mentoring and support system you’ll have access to a partner with whom you can discuss your career progress and any issues. You will also have the ongoing support of fellow trainees and colleagues. Our training timelines show how your training contract will evolve over the two years.
